42% of long admission delays in English A&E departments occured at Oldham’s Pennine Acute NHS Hospitals Trust

England has 242 A&E departments and in September official NHS statistics show that 42% of all A&E patients in England who had to wait up to 12 hours between the decision to admit to actual admission were patients at Oldham’s Pennine Acute NHS Hospitals Trust. In September Oldham’s Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust continued to have the second busiest major A&E department in England, dealing with 22,098 patients, only Barts in London dealt with more.
