Council budgets under pressure but another £26 million added in property development costs.

Oldham Council is still plastering social media with the message “No areas can be immune from budget pressures, there are no easy decisions left.” As most people who frequent Chronic-Oldham know this does not include capital expenditure (property development) which, yet again, has increased and this time by £26 million which has been added since the budget spend was agreed in February 2015. £106 million of the five year capital investment £203,590,000 spend comes from prudential loans.
Between 2015 & 2018 Oldham Council expects to receive £24,783,000 in capital receipts from the sale of public assets.
