Foxdenton parks newly restored cafe vandalised and set on fire before work is completed

Bringing what was clearly an inevitable conclusion to fruition Foxdenton parks newly restored cafe was vandalised and set on fire last night before work was even completed. Thanks in no small part to the inaction of Oldham Council and the police who have ignored calls from residents to stop large groups of school aged youths who, for several years, have been using Foxdenton park to have regular weekend all-night drinking and nitrous oxide sniffing parties. Residents of Foxdenton Lane commented on the Foxdenton Protection Group page that the youths involved ran past police and fire services as they arrived and the police drove past them as they left the scene choosing not to question or detain anyone involved.
