The combined Oldham bill for Housing Benefit (social housing) & Local Housing Allowance (private rented sector) 2012/13 was over £38 million. for a total of 10,049 properties. Social housing payments per household averaged £326 per month & private rentals averaged £312 per month. It was also reported last week that Oldham has the 4th highest rates of UK home repossessions, since 2012 Oldham Council & partners have issued 29,134 court summons.
