In 15 months foreign nationals registering for new NI numbers in Oldham surpassed jobs created by the “Get Oldham Working” scheme in 22 months by 68%.

Between January 2014 & March 2015 1991 new National Insurance numbers were issued to foreign nationals resident in Oldham 663 of which were issued to Romanian & Bulgarian migrants. Since May 2013 Oldham Councils “flagship” Get Oldham Working campaign “has helped facilitate the creation of 1,184 jobs” up to March 2015. This means that foreign nationals in Oldham registering for new NI numbers over a 15 month period outnumbered jobs created by the scheme over a 22 month period by a massive 68%.
