On the day Teresa May grants millions of EU nationals the right to stay in the UK the population of England passes 55 million

The UK population grew by unsustainable 538,000 in the year to mid-2016 with 62.4% of the increase due to immigration and 89.5% of the total population increase occurring in England. The population of England has now passed 55 million for the first time with the actual population number estimated at 55,268,100. The population density for England is now 422 persons per square km for Scotland it is 69 per square km for Wales 150 and for Northern Ireland 136.
