Cash strapped Oldham Council has allocated another £54,000 to the demolition cost of the much derided Manchester St footbridge which has been a beacon for muggings, anti-social behaviour & vandalism. The demolition costs now total £119,000 almost doubling the budget set in the Summer of 2014. The bridge was one of Oldham’s many failed past regeneration projects which came in for national press coverage because of design flaws & the massive increases between the projected & final cost’s of the construction.
