When the Labour supporting Oldham Times reported on the latest government fly-tipping statistics for Oldham in 2020 they mentioned back alleyway incidents, highway incidents, footpath/bridleway incidents, council land incidents. For some reason they left out that 74.1% of all incidents are from households dumping black bags or that it is by far the worst area in Greater Manchester for incidents. We all know the areas where this is a daily problem and the council have failed to address this issue for years right back to Jim McMahon employing Manchester University to educate Eastern European’s on acceptable behaviour when he was Council leader. Even the Oldham Chronicle recently wrote about the blight of fly tipping around Ashton Rd a stones throw from the site of Labour Oldham’s much lauded green multimillion eco park and urban farm plans.
74.1% of fly tipping in Oldham is domestic black bag tipping, 38.1% in Trafford, 30.8% in Bury, 24.6% in Bolton, 23.6% in Wigan, 21.9% in Rochdale, 19.1% in Salford, 18.8% in Tameside, 14,3% in Stockport and 8.7% in Manchester.
