The Oldham Council inflicted Foxdenton employment development is in such demand that it still does not have a single business signed up as tenants despite the offer to build bespoke units. The developer (which is partnered with the Council) is considering building a ‘speculative unit’ to try & sell the scheme which is both undesirable to local residents & apparently just as undesirable to businesses. Countryside and Redrow Homes have yet to sign contracts with the developer for the initial housing element of 210 new houses but everyone expects the scheme to now focus on housing; which is contrary to the original application and the government’s pinch point funding terms.
