Oldham’s Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust has the second busiest major A&E department in England

In August The Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust had the second busiest major A&E department in England, dealing with 21,117 patients, only Barts in London dealt with more. In total the trust dealt with 25,096 A&E attendees making it the third busiest (by total) after Barts and London NW Healthcare. Also shown in the August statistics are 959 people who waited up to 4 hours from the decision to admit to actual admission, this was the second highest number in England only the Mid Yorkshire Trust admitted more in 4 hours, 6 A&E patients waited between 5 and 12 hours from decision to admit to actual admission.
