Census data reveals the percentage of economically inactive adults in Oldham has increased across every group other than those who are retired where the percentage decreased and the percentage of economically active adults decreased across every single group. The highest rates of worklessness are concentrated around the central Oldham wards where for instance only two in every five adults work in the Alexandra ward.
