Police reported that on Saturday evening July 29th a woman was walking along the path to the South Chadderton Metrolink stop with her child when a man wearing a balaclava tried to grab the child before running away. Despite already earning the nickname the spice tram to Chadderton long ago, when area discriminative Labour Oldham installed 51 extra cameras around the Metrolink for public safety reasons they only did so in areas around the tram stops from Freehold to Oldham Mumps. Tram stops with a long history of violent assaults, drug dealing and ASB such as Chadderton, Hollinwood and Failsworth got no extra safety provision as people’s safety is obviously less important to OMBC than those in other areas.
